I’m thankful for the gift of flowers. I will never have enough! Indoors or out, flowers make me smile. Gazing upon their beauty, time slows. I went outside to photograph pinecones, but that will have to wait until another day. Sweet Alyssum’s still blooming. In November. And that’s sheer bliss!
I’m dedicating November to giving thanks! For years, I’ve kept a gratitude journal in which I jot down things that I’m thankful for. During this month when we’ll celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, I’m going to take my gratitude for God’s good gifts one step further by photographing a particularly meaningful gift each day for my 365 project! I've always viewed the subjects of my images as gifts, but I'm looking forward to this month of intentionally labeling them as such. This will enable me to spend a bit more time dwelling on God's goodness and offering the thanks that He deserves. If anyone would like to join me in this celebration of grace, please do! I’ll be tagging my images: all-is-grace.
Lovely details, especially against black - hard to believe we're still finding flowers in November. The lighting is wonderful to give it such a soft feeling. Flowers do make me happy, too. You walk around grinning.
Very pretty with the shallow DOF, the soft purples and grays. My white Alyssum is still blooming like crazy too. (The purple was out where the frost sort of beat it up.)
@lyndemc Thank you! I had the opposite problem as my white is gone and my purple still thrives! There's so much good about Sweet Alyssum...I just love all of it's amazing attributes. For as small as it is, it sure packs a powerful floral punch!
@janetb Doesn't it though! (pack a powerful aroma) A stroll down my sidewalk is always accompanied by the sweet scent of these tiny beauties, from spring through late fall.
