Today is the day of our annual Christmas party! I’m in need of a filler since things are so busy; so I ask myself, "what picture taken in previous years could I post to depict this special annual event?" Hmmm, it’s a tough choice. My husband helps decide, and we choose this image of the Christmas tree in our foyer since it is near this tree that we greet our guests!
This scene looks fairly similar from year to year, including Marley snoozing—a fluffy black heap in the soft glow of the lights. Snoozing, that is, until the doorbell rings and in through the door-flung-wide-open swirls the cold and the smiles and the hugs and the warmth of “Merry Christmas!” The he and she teddies slowly and sweetly move their arms and heads as though waving hello to all who enter; and yes, this image helps us recall party day, indeed.
