It’s the second week of the month! That’s a pretty special and busy time around here, because that’s when I write letters to our sponsored children in Guatemala and Nicaragua. Through Compassion International, our sponsored children have access to church-based centers that encourage spiritual, physical, social, and economic development; and we have the privilege of building personal relationships with these wonderful children. Crafts, coloring pages, bookmarks, stickers, bandaids, postcards, or other small treasures get tucked in with the letters and sent off with love and plenty of prayers.
As one, myself, who enjoys sending snail-mailed letters to friends, I can only imagine how delighted those children will be to receive these treats! Such a worthwhile endeavor will long be remembered by these children as they grow up!
Great picture and wonderful that you do this. I'm an adoptive mom to a girl born in Armenia and I know the kids who are on the receiving end of these acts of kindness really appreciate it!
@Weezilou Thank you so much for commenting and for the follow! I truly appreciate your kindness. I'm glad I came across your beautiful avocado image, and I look forward to following your project!
Just right dof for this shot to catch all the parts of your project - what a wonderful gift you're giving these children - something I know they look forward to.
