Whenever we have the need to eat a meal from a fast food restaurant, we don’t typically eat inside. Instead, we pick up our food at the drive-thru window and find an interesting parking spot beneath a pretty tree or near some dense shrubs alive with hungry birds. In the comfort of our vehicle, we relax and enjoy the food, each other’s company, and the view. Sometimes knowing birds land on the hood, because who can resist tossing a tasty tidbit out to them? Good conversation, the nearness of loved ones, and pleasing scenery make these “car picnics” one of my favorite traditions. This afternoon, my husband and I enjoyed our picnic with a sweeping view of a dynamic sky. Quality time stolen from a busy day!
