Detail I

My love of glass infuses our home with glistening color, and the stained glass windows in the dining room hold a special place in my heart. A local stained glass artist brought our ideas to life during the construction of our home in 1999; and this detail of one of the dining room windows that she created depicts my mother’s favorite bird, the Northern Cardinal, and my father’s favorite bird, the Black-capped Chickadee. They sit on dogwood branches reminiscent of the wild dogwoods sprinkled throughout our wooded hillside, and clusters of oak leaves in honor of the old oaks surrounding our home frame the scene. March’s sunshine illuminates many memories!
Beautiful commentary to accompany this sentimental stained glass window. Lovely shot.

I love stained glass too, and we have some that include elements of the Southwest. It's interesting to see how this one reflects your area.
