Oh wow Jerome, sure brings back memories of our trip down the Danube on a similar tour boat some years back. What a shame I didn't know you in those days. Love this image too with all those lines, shapes, angles, light and shade. Despite the river boat your treatment maintains the feeling of age in the old town.
@golftragic Thank you, Marnie, for your nice visit! So you made a Danube trip... It bears mentioning that we were already so close to each other spatially. Sometimes you don't want to believe in coincidences.
You have seen a lot of the world. I think it is important to have experiences in other parts of the world. It broadens your own horizon immensely.
@redy4et I had to pedal my way up to the castle. It ascends steeply anyway. The view is worth the effort. You have a beautiful view of the entire city.
Of course you can also go up on foot or by car.
@jerome We travelled to Europe in 2016 with a tour group. Started with 3 nights in Berlin, then to Prague for 3 nights, then joined one of the river cruises at Nuremberg to travel to Budapest. What a shame we hadn't met then, I've always regretted that. I don't know your situation in Austria, but our borders are closed and likely to remain so for a long time. International travel is out of the question except for very, very limited reasons. Any incoming traveller (almost all Aussies returning from overseas) must quarantine for two weeks in isolation. Given my age I think we may well have had our last long overseas trip, travel insurance gets horrendous after I turn 80 in eighteen months. We may be allowed to travel to New Zealand or maybe the Pacific islands in the forseeable future, but that would be about all. Added to all that my state (Victoria) is in the throes of a very bad outbreak of the wretched virus and all the interstate borders are closed to us. Nobody loves us, 'kick a Vic' is in vogue. :(
@golftragic It's nice that you've seen so much of Europe. Prague is a wonderful city. I have to go there again sometime. You traveled by boat from Nuremberg to Budapest. That must have been a great trip. It's hard to believe that we were so close to each other.
I am very sorry that the session in Victoria is so difficult. "Kick a Vic" ... really not friendly ...
Infection numbers are also increasing in Europe. England is badly affected. The situation in Austria is still relatively good, the infection rate is relatively stable at a low level. There is a mask requirement in public transportation, shops and offices; in medical practices and hospitals anyway. There are travel warnings for some countries. Entry from there is associated with tests and quarantine. I suspect there will be further travel bans.
I do not go on a journey this year. I have never been in the garden as much as this year.
We will have to wait until a vaccine is developed.

I wish you all the best!
Take care, Marnie!
