NOT! 99% certain it's a Barred Sallow, my only capture in the moth trap the other night.
7 images cleverly stacked in camera by the Oly TG5. Very slight crop only & better on black if you have time and/or inclination.

@markp Thanks, Mark. I hope to test Tuffy's water abilities in tadpole hunting next spring. The stacking is in the macro menu, as is X44.4 magnification - just a step too far for me so far, but maybe I haven't tried it on the right subject.

@koalagardens Thank you very much. Yes, he's alive. Trapping doesn't hurt them, they hide in egg boxes if they can't find their way back out of the trap. Then they are photographed & released into thick foliage so they can rest safely until nightfall.

@steveandkerry Thanks. I was of course attempting to be facetious as "everybody Knows" that moths are dull, boring, grey or bown drab little insects. I've had a disappointing mothing season so this solitary moth was a delightful surprise. Even better he was very friendly (or tired) and posed beautifully for many photos. The TG5 focus stacking allows a revelation of detail. You might not get this moth, but I bet you've had Merveille du jour - envy!
