York's famous ancient cobbled street at silly o'clock. Couldn't sleep so dressed self & a reluctant Tilly & walked into town.
The shrine of Margaret Clitheroe, a RC martyr at a time of religious intolerance is on this tiny street, half of it knocked down by a short sighted council about 85 years ago
May have another go at even sillier o’clock one morning. Possibly aim higher too to show the overhangs better.

3 years now and still not 100% complete. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that I am less than fully committed to this project.
Second time...
@photographycrazy@gilbertwood@merrelyn thank you very much. The Shambles is always crowded during the day, it’s a ‘must see’ for tourists. I think 30 minutes earlier (ouch) might be better, it will still be really dark and hopefully there will be no activity. j
@pej thank you, Paul. Her Tillyness was glad to be home - so was I! It’s the only way to get Shambles shots though and I think we were a little too late. j
@koalagardens several centuries of history in this tiny street. I don’t think it’s York’s oldest though, possible Stonegate has that honour because it ran from the Roman basilica to the river. j
