Mrs Brimstone came this afternoon, a pleasant but very blowy afternoon. She's laid a few eggs in my insect friendly York garden/jungle and is leaving for a few minute's rest before starting again.
In about 10 days, weather permitting, we'll have tiny Brimstone babies.

@rosiekind I was actually lucky that the shutter speed was fast enough to catch her in flight! Usually I have to extract stills from video if I want this shot. You will never see a Brimstone resting with open wings, they are always together and resemble a leaf. Clever camouflage.
@koalagardens@merrelyn thank you. I’ve counted (and marked the site) of 19 eggs. There might be more, another search tomorrow.
18 May. 5 Mrs B have visited my tiny baby food tree and I now have 100+ eggs, that’s a lot of hungry caterpillars in waiting!
