Great shot. Very nice light, and pov

Wonderful tones, reflections and color. You can almost get the sense of the curvature of the earth. Nice shot Jane.

@mamabec I think that is distortion from the wide angled lens. Not sure

This is beautiful. Love how you caught the ray of light right to the water's edge :)

I think this is fabulous - you can almost see the curve of the earth - the only suggestion I would have is to straighten it slightly in Picnik - it's a bit of an obsession I'm afraid - and thank goodness for that straighten option because I NEVER seem to shhot a straight photo!

@judithg I actually did straighten it in photoshop. I was thinking it was perhaps distortion from wide angled lens. Would that make sense?

Gorgeous!!

I like it, good stuff. My shooting into the sun shots are all trial and error, so I have no good advice.

I think you did a great job. This is a wonderful photo.

So very beautiful

You did a pretty good job. When there is a high contrast situation like this get your exposure setting from the blue sky just to one side of the sun. Works like a charm!

I love the colors and shadows here!

@aspada Thanks. I will try it. Any idea why the sky is rounded?
December 16th, 2011
@jgpittenger It's lens distortion, I imagine. Wide angle lenses distort easily. You can correct it in post with the latest versions of PS, Lightroom, etc.

Love the parrell lines...nice shot!

This is lovely. You could use a nd filter.
December 17th, 2011
@dawnirwin this was shot with my Nikkor 14-22 lens which doesn't fit a nd filter. Guess I could have switched lenses.

@aspada thanks much. I have elements. will check and see if there is a lens distortion fixer on it.
