Actually my daughter and I went for a facial yesterday to celebrate her 40th birthday and this is the mask that was peeled off my face. It was a lovely day and I feel so blessed to have had the pleasure of being her mother (same could be said for my 3 sons and other daughter). On the other hand there is something so frenetic about the holidays that seems so counter to the meaning of the time.
Wow - that must have done something dramatic! Lovely to have a bit of relaxing time. I'm afraid you've set me off about the role of women at Christmas - I once had a row with a man at work because he kept saying nobody should shop for presents before Christmas Eve. I asked him who was decorating, card writing, cleaning, baking, planning and cooking for the duration of the holiday (as well as present buying) and he sheepishly admitted his mum was doing all of that. In those days I was working full time until Christmas Eve and had two small children and a short fuse with idiotic men!!!
Calling all women ... if you've NEVER had a facial, it has to be one of the most wonderful ways to pamper yourself. It makes me relax just thinking about it. Great capture of the moment Jane.
