@aleksandra gave me a push challenge of low light shooting using ISO 100, F stop 22, and shutter speed of 15-30 sec. (Well, I just re read it and she wanted me to use F of 16, woops). I went out before dawn this morning to get a shot of the bridge in the summer dawn light and found that the fog I have been wanting was there! So, I guess I didn't meet my push challenge because I used f of 22. But what I learned was that using such a small aperture and low ISO and long shutter speed, I got everything in focus!
@alexsandra WEll, despite my visitors, I got up when it was still dark to do my push challenge, thinking you had said f 22! Woops. So I'll be trying to find another time to be up before dawn or go to bed after dark!
This is gorgeous Jane and a definite fav for me as I love fog shots and am yet to be up early enough, or organised enough the mornings I am up early enough, to take one! Its so fun to learn new things through these challenges! In terms of the challenge, what I would like to see is you push your exposure longer (I note this is 1 second), to at least 15 seconds, this is best achieved during blue hour or at night and you generally end up with some cool star effects on any lights that you get into shot. Besides that, this is still a marvellous shot! Well done!
Jane - This is just beautiful! I don't mind at all that you messed up on the F stop! I love this bridge, and your composition and the fog make it a spectacular photo! A fav for me!
@Cherrill Thanks for letting me know. I didn't and I've never had a shot there before and I'm home sick instead of backpacking so I could use some cheering up
This is really stunning! So for your get-pushed-14 challenge. I went back as far as August in this album and this totally caught my eye! I would like you to give me something architectural. A building, another bridge, something built by people. You are great at nature and sky and light I can see so I push you to shoot architecture. Would this be enough of a push for the week?
Did you also use a tripod?
