I love snowy plovers. This variety is endangered so this beach and the one by our house require dogs to be on leashes during nesting season and, thankfully, dune buggies are outlawed. They make nests in the dunes. My dog isn't happy about the leash requirement but I am grateful for the protection of these cuties.
