We took a fabulously beautiful hike on the road between Bryce Canyon and Capital Reef which ends at a stunning 125 ft waterfall and pool. We were hot and sweaty after the hike so we took turns swimming while the other one watched the camera, wallet, etc. Jim exuberantly, with the delight of an 8 year old, dove in and swam over to the falls only to discover one of his hearing aids dangling from an ear and the other nowhere to be found. It ended up being by far the most expensive part of our trip! Nevertheless a stunning spot.
I hope everyone knows that though I don't thank you for your visits, comments, favs, I am tremendously grateful. You really make my day with all your support
Fav and fabulous! This looks like straight out of National Geographic! Beautiful Sounds like a fun day, other than the hearing aid....but in the end I'm sure the memory will make it worth the expense. Priceless. (NTN...no thanks necessary)
@jgpittenger - Jane, My daughter and I are wrestling with whether to take this hike on Aug. 22. We will be there with her three kids. I am 65 and the kids are 6, 9 and 12. We hear the hike is in a lot of sand and the road there is a bit dangerous. What do you think?
@dlaxton no problem. Jim is 70 and I 69, we found it fine. Might be a bit long for the 6 yo but we saw kids younger than that hiking it. Only problem I would see is in August it will be TONS hotter than it was in May.
@jgpittenger - Thank you SO MUCH! I appreciate it. So the sand was not a problem! Yes, we are working with the 5 yo LOL ... swim under a waterfall!! NICE!! Our plan is to hit the trailhead at 5:00am ... we are staying within 5 minutes of there!
@rvwalker - Thanks Ross, we are trying to prioritize as we only have 3 1/2 days in UT (I know ... but it is a lot better than none). It does look like we can fit Kodachrome in though. We're thinking Navajo-Queens Castle as the other Bryce hike. And weeping rock and riverside at Zion.
