As I said yesterday, my regular camera is having its sensor cleaned. I'm getting to have a great experience seeing what my waterproof Nikon 1 can do. We are finally getting the much needed rain that sounds as if it will be lasting into the foreseeable future. Cayenne was wondering how come I had stopped on the trail when she was ready to go.
Thanks for all your kind words re my retirement. It is good to be retiring to a life that I want from a life that was really good too. There is something about starting the final chapter of one's life that is a bit sobering however especially when you feel really young!
Magnificent trees. When we come to the coast we hug the shoreline. Clearly there are great places inland too, and I like the way these trees grow from a diagonal landscape.
I really like the diagonal lines the trees make too, super composition Jane. I understand what you are saying about retirement but as long as we have our health and strength we can do anything so go out and enjoy every minute. When I think and worry about getting older I try to remind myself of my little nephew. He is young, yes, but severely disabled and has never had a the pleasure of running, skipping and jumping or even walking. When his little brother was around 3 or 4 he said he was looking forward to dying and going to heaven because then he would be able to play with his brother and his brother would be free!
They do give us that come on look when we arent keeping up. Lovely path and place to walk. I totally identify with your sentence. Kind of had that feeling myself when I retired. I thought, I'm not ready to be in the slow lane, I want to be in the fast lane still. I think I'm probably still in the middle lane!
I love this shot, but I am a sucker for dogs and woods. A belated congratulations on your retirement. I wish you many long and lovely walks, laughter and joy in the days ahead.
Congratulation on your retirement it must be rather nice to know that your time is your own now a photographers dream! What perfect trees for doing a bit of ICM photography the right trees are always rather hard to come by in London!
@jo13 what a terrific idea! Ironically I had the same one when I was out hiking yesterday but had my little waterproof camera with me since it was raining and couldn't figure out how to do it. I'll try figuring it out in advance next time or take my regular camera that has just come home from sensor cleaning
What a beautiful rainforest! Me too, I'm a sucker for dogs and woods!
Love the path, the trees and the ferns. I can almost feel the damp and smell the forest!
