I was going to share a bunch of photos from the wedding and then realized that it doesn't feel right to put them on the web with identifying details...like their faces. Suffice it to say they were both beautiful and radiant and it was a treat to be there to celebrate their love. The story of the wedding dress is sweet...my mother was a flapper and years ago my dauhgters had a bunch of her dresses. Apparently at the time of my oldest daughter's wedding, she offered this dress (which then had a big hole in the back of it) to her cousin. Apparently my niece has held on to it the 15 or so years since then saving it for her wedding! Her mother found matching silk and was able to patch the hole so it was totally unrecognizable. It felt really sweet to have my daughter and mother all there too- though my mother would have been horrifed by the gay wedding.
Thanks for your continued tolerance of my fillers. One day I will get well again.
A beautiful history Jane & a lovely occasion to wear your mums dress....I think your mum would have moved with the times though ...it comes upon you slowly so she wouldn't have noticed....as long as we are happy what does it matter!
Times have changed so much, and in many ways have left me behind. An anonymous photo seems somehow appropriate for a subject that is still controversial in much of the world.
