HDR Lilies by jgpittenger

HDR Lilies

I've been playing around with editing ideas taken from a class I recently took in Photoshop. Previously when I've wanted to combine different exposures I have used HDR EFEX Pro but often find myself frustrated with how HDR'y the choices are. SO now I am learning how to do it more naturally. Weather has been encouraging to mostly stay inside so I bought myself a bunch of lilies. This was taken with just natural light through the window on the left. I think I like this one better than the one in my flowers album because I like the black background.
Thanks for all your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Lovely! I need to learn how to do some of these things. I struggle because between new responsibilities at work on top of old ones and being in school, time is short!

I certainly can't see that you have used HDR, you certainly have a natural touch as this looks fabulous.

I love the black background here and the side lighting is gorgeous

I always favour a black background as it allows the subject to shine. A lovely image and well processed.

That sure fool me, that mirror looks like open shallow or shadow box something like that. Great shot!

Much cleaner background than the other image, and the light and arrangement is beautiful.

Yes, I agree, this is a great shot, the simplicity and darkness of the background makes this a standout picture. I love your positioning of the flower pot on a third, with the flowers leaning in to fill the picture. Was this done with multiple exposures, Jane?

The dark backdrop is really effective. But I also really liked the blue tones of the other shot as a backdrop.
