We did our monthly bird count on the Siuslaw Watershed Council's Waite Ranch project. I hadn't been able to go for a couple of months and was pleased to see some of the beauties though many were too far off for my 300mm lens.

Such a pretty bird, and I like the natural background. My telephoto zoom also goes to 300, and sometimes I wish it went further--but I'm not sure I could carry around such a very heavy lens as that would be.
