Egret Standing Alone by jgpittenger

Egret Standing Alone

On my way home from Eugene a couple of days ago, I saw this white egret rookery and decided to go back between rain storms with my tripod and longest lens and see what I could get. They were way over on the other side of the river so the focus isn't great but I was happy to get what I got! I liked the way this ones feathers were blowing in the wind. I hadn't realized that when they are in breeding colors, the top of the beak is blue. You can see a more wide view of the rookery in my extras album.
Thanks much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs and for your empathy re my hard drive woes. It is very perplexing...at the computer hospital it worked fine and passed all the evaluations. It does make me nervous.
