Pink Dawn At Bastendorff Beach

I got up at 5 AM to drive down to Coos Bay and shoot what looked as if it was going to be a beautiful dawn and high surf, but when I got to the entry gate I found it wouldn't open until 8 AM. I didn't have enough time to walk in, so I quickly went back to another picturesque spot. I just had time to get my gear together but ended up being pretty happy with the shot. I like the soft swirls of the angry ocean that a longish shutter speed gave me. Best by far on black if you have time.

This is wonderful on black, Jane. You "monitored and adjusted" - as they use to teach us in school - really really well! The lighting and long exposure were the perfect pick for this shot.
