Sea Gulls, Girls, and Surf B and W by jgpittenger

Sea Gulls, Girls, and Surf B and W

Best on black. I think I prefer the black and white. What do you think? (Color version in my extras album) On our trip yesterday, one of the places we went was one of my favorite spots on the Oregon Coast. Usually I go there to shoot sunsets and stars but yesterday we went to get out from under rain and overcast skies. In Bandon the clouds had more definition and it wasn't raining but no sunset! I loved the two seagulls perched on the foreground rock and the intrepid girls running in the waves even though it was 48 degrees F out!
Thanks for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs

Yes, I prefer the b& w. I think the contrast is better. Reminds me of our West coast beaches with the black sand. For a minute I thought I was in NZ

I like the black and white it gives it rather a foreboding atmosphere. Lovely composition

Definitely like the b&w. It brings more contrast and everything just pops.

Yes I prefer the black and white. It makes the scene more dramatic and sharper.

Oh yes, definitely the b&w. As Babs @onewing said, it brings out the dramatic elements rather better.

Super job composing this - the b&w is so dramatic, especially against black. Love this! Fav

b/w definitley!! So much more dramatic. That being said, the color one is nice too. Is that Wizard Hat Rock? I need to come to southern OR this summer, the beach is so beauriful

Hard to pick a winner. They both have a very interesting perspective to them. I sort of like the color version the best.
