Best by far on black. My family just left after a lovely visit. They live in cities so they were thrilled to be able to see the Milky Way. We spent their last night up at Cape Perpetua enjoying the night sky. Sorry to have been so absent but between being sick, having our internet data spent, and having my son and his adult kids visiting, I've had other things on my plate. Awesome capture. I'm going to find a spot around here, one of these days that is dark enough and try it. Wish the EXIF info had showed the settings. :-)
