Best on black and big. There is a bare branch on a tree fairly close to the hummingbird feeders where usually a single hummer likes to sit before returning to the feeder. Yesterday eve, there were three on the branch and others flying on and off of it. What a show! We have about 35 hummers feeding at our feeders right now…4 quarts of sugar water a day! Several new hatches by the looks of it. The young ones are even smaller than the adults and every bit as feisty

Fabulous shot!!! You are so lucky to see this. I have had one hummer for many years and this year they aren't around much at all. It has been a bit cold at night though - in the 50s this week.
35, as in thirty five, as in the five in this photo times seven ??? This shot is absolutely amazing, and so beautifully in focus. Wow, 4 quarts a day of sugar water. How long will they be around? Will they still be there in October??
@jyokota yes, 35. They will soon spend more time in the flowers and should be around in similar numbers probably through July and then gradually move on. By October we will probably only. Have a couple of overwintering Annas
Great shot Jane!
