Dropping in to Death Valley_tonemapped

This is a re-edit suggested by Paul (@webfoot). What do you think? He suggested an HDR edit using the one photo. I had forgotten that I could do it with just one

Much more textured than the last photo & the valley looks nearer with not as much depth !!! You can make out the little fence now on the edge of the road but on the whole I think I prefer the other !!

I think I like the other one, also. The dark in the foreground leads your eyes to the bright mountains in the background.

This really brings out the color in the road cut, but something about the sky just didn't work quite as well as expected. You're right though, it is fun to experiment. Almost every one of my shots I run through Photomatix, just to see what it would look like.

@webfoot I just fiddled with it some more and I think I found what I like the best. Thanks for your encouragement to try different editing on it. I really like the photo so it's worth the time and effort for me
