I went on a hike yesterday with my friend on one of the jetties. There were big waves coming through the bar and in the river. Two Coast Guard Boats were practicing rescue procedures. If you enlarge this you can see the boat was at quite an angle
You sure are doing a lot of photographs & outings for someone who said she's trying to pack! You captured a scene that looks pretty dramatic, even though it wasn't a real rescue--dark clouds, choppy water, tilting boat.
@anwan I needed a break! I had a date with my friend in the middle of the day for a walk and then took off in the midst to catch the sunset because there hasn't been a good one here for a while! Luckily I live pretty close to both places featured here today.
These guys are impressive. I once watched them enter Depoe Bay after a storm and couldn't believe how they did it. This is a good journalism-type photo.
