Windblown Tree b and w

There was a brief lull in the storm yesterday so I went out to one of my favorite spots and took some shots more zoomed in than I've done before since the light and sky were pretty boring. Do you prefer the color or B and W?
It was fun to see the variety of responses to yesterday's shots and a delight to see one of them on the PP for a while. Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs
Love the textures and the subject matter :)

Mmmm...I do like the b&w, but I think for me, I'd want a bit more contrast between the blacks/whites -- less the sepia/monochrome feel to it. The sky has an odd cast to it that makes it feel otherworldly -- which is what you might have been going for.

I like this shot too, it conveys a completely different mood. The colour version feels like a cold, windy place while the b&w is rather more spooky. We have trees bent over like this on the golf course (right on the coast) thanks to the prevailing south-westerly winds. Lovely fun when a ball gets into one that are completely horizontal.

I like the black and white. It seems to show more texture. Great shot! a fav.

I've gone back and forth again - several times - the two give quite different feelings - which in itself is quite interesting - I'm learning so much - my preference is the b&w (me who never thinks to try b&w or knows when to try it). More just a gut feeling. Like the serious mood it brings.

I like the B & W one more, seems a bit more dramatic and more fitting given the extreme bend/shape of the tree.
