Another bokeh shot for my mentoring group:
I was sitting in the window seat having lunch with Jim yesterday and noticed that there were three Annas warring over the feeder. I put down my fork and went out with my camera. This incredibly bright and beautiful hummer was so busy protecting his terrain that he barely noticed me so I got amazingly close. It was dark and I wanted to be able to photograph him in flight if possible so the ISO was 3200 and the shot is noisy but I was stunned by the bright and gaudy neck feathers as the light caught them.
I can't believe how much response my surf shot has gotten. Thank you all so much. You are making my day despite more torrential rain and wind.
This is fabulous -- the colors are quite amazing, sharp, and interesting. The bokeh sets this little bird off so well. Noise is not interfering at all. WOW!!
Absolutely stunning Jane!! What fabulous detail of the bird - such wonderful colours too!! Your dof is perfect giving you this lovely bokeh!! Huge Fav!! This is a TT shot as far as I am concerned!!
Stunning shot Jane, even more impressive given the light and weather conditions. I don't think the noise detracts from the shot at all, just like a bit more grain.
This is absolutely gorgeous - I never would have guessed 3200 - the noise isn't detracting at all - fabulous colors and details - would love to see one of these in person. Do love that bokeh background - perfect against those amazing details on the hummingbird. Fav
