On the trail

Sometimes I am just so blown away by the beauty that surrounds me every day as I hike the wonderful horse trail system that is connected to our farm by a trail my wonderful husband gave me for a birthday gift about ten years ago and still maintains. Glad I had my phone with us!
Thanks for your amazing response to "Time Flies" and "Under the Winchester Bay Pier" taking both of them to the PP...a rare treat
Ooh, gorgeous. Love the placement of the fern and the falling log, and wonderful textures and contrasts in b&w.

B & W helps focus in on the different textures in the plans and trees!

I'm sure you make use of his lovely gift as often as you can too Jane, he must be so pleased he thought if such a very suitable gift you can both enjoy too. A legacy for you both!

Jim gave you a trail? I'm not entirely sure what that means but it sounds like another example of Jim being the biggest dream boat ever

@carla42 He is better than I could have ever wished for! and "giving me a trail" means he cut out about a mile of thick scratchy underbrush "salmonberry"- a native invasive bush here- as well as chain sawing branches on the ground etc. LOTS of work and it grows back every spring so keeping it open is hard work.

What a good man he is! Love this shot, especially the use of light to focus attention on the fern and the curve in the track.

@jgpittenger That's what I was picturing but I thought surely no one's that lucky. What a guy that Jim is x
