I think I prefer the color version to the black and white which is posted in my main album, but I am curious re what others think. This was taken on my Birthday trip to Portland in January. It is of the Hawthorne bridge. the options for perspective were influenced by a homeless camp being just where I would have liked to stand. I know the boat in foreground and the motion blur are probably distracting, but the motion blur is from a night kayaker and I thought it was so cool that he was out there at night, that I wanted to keep it. Mistake?
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs and taking my Foggy dawn shot to the PP yesterday.
I like them both - the B&W for it's more moody feel and the colour version for it's beautiful reflections - a totally different atmosphere !! Another Fav!
I like the color a lot as well, but in both images, I think I'd like to see it cropped up and more pano, where the cropping would go to the highest that you could without losing the kayak motion (I think that's where it is) to eliminate the left hand lower corner shore structures. I like the lights, reflections and the overall scene a lot.
I like both versions, but they are, in effect, two different shots. If I must choose, I prefer the coloured version but, like @taffy, I'd like to see this shot cropped to remove/reduce the distractions in the lower left-hand corned.
