Rufous Fly Away

Anyone who has been following me for any time knows I love hummingbirds and can't help myself with my addiction to photographing them. Usually at this time of year we have about 25 of them at our feeders. For some reason we only have 5 so far this year which worries me. I love the spread tail feathers here and the bokeh were a bonus.

What a wonderful shot of his colors from behind - lighting was fabulous. Saw one return - the female - yesterday. Waiting on the male. Usually have 2 or 3 and that's all, but they do stay the rest of the summer.

What a wonderful capture. I will have to learn how to do this someday. Sadly my hummer has not returned this year. We had some warm weather and then a cold snap, which may have done them in. Still I hope...
