My PSA module is on still lifes and I am at a loss as to how to set them up. This part of the assignment is to create a still life that has a theme. I am hoping for suggestions, critiques.

I'm no expert! I think this is just lovely as is. However, you might try the cloth on the table behind the rest of your items and do away with the chair. Maybe simplify it just a little more.
Oh I think this is already quite lovely. And I do love the different tones you put together. If you do not mind my two cents,... I would concentrate on the rule of thirds. So if you push the wooden (and so lovely) box, and the items a bit to the right, to have a topic on the lower third there, and pull the table away from the chair with the fabric. The chair and the fabric will dissolve and would be more background. And you could even pin some pins in the fabric, so you get a bit more bokeh there. In my stills I always try to arrange the items on different distances from the camera, and only one object in focus. But this is just my style.
I love this but agree that the material perhaps is too dominant.....that sewing box is just beautiful & the focus on all the things on the table so sharp.
Love the blue and orange colors.
Great suggestions by Mags and Mona. Also maybe experiment with different angles and arrangement of the items. The scissors are a bit lost. And try different lighting, darker, lighter. Just to see what works.
Still lifes are not easy, at least not for me. I might have a couple of suggestions, but it looks like they've already been mentioned. I do love the tones and the "clean" style here
