Out again this morning for the golden hour. Had thought about going to the beach but didn't get up in time. So I went to Estes Lake. I shoot a few pictures of this lake this winter. Probably that sunburst is a little too strong but ultimately it's about what I like and I like it. I could and probably will down it down with some layers for my scrapbooking. But feel it should be close to sooc for the Camera Settings Challenge.
@joansmor In a way this starburst was planned Joan - if you shoot a point light source (and at 96m miles distant, the sun is a point light source) with an aperture of F13 or smaller (you were at F14) then you will get a starburst effect. You can produce them to order... or not, by controlling your aperture. Great photo and a tribute to all your hard work.
@vignouse Okay filing these away for future use. But the angle of the camera I didn't even look I just shot. That's what I meant by not planning. The next shot I moved the light to the side so I wouldn't get a starburst.
@perspectivesimages Thanks, I wish I could say I knew what I was doing when I shot it, but mostly just playing with a lot of different takes to learn from.
Early morning and late afternoon produce the best light. Photographers and artists have been saying that for centuries. Love this landscape. Beautiful capture.
