Because we had a blizzard (which means blowing snow and wind) no birds Tuesday. But they were at it on Wednesday and I got this little guy. Do you see the little icicle inside the feeding hole. Boy tough being a bird sometimes.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, and the stay safe wishes. We are fine here in my corner of Maine and bracing for another storm tomorrow but less snow. Turns out my town got about the most out of this storm. Aren't I lucky.
I'm surprised that the birds are comfortable using this sort of feeder where they have to put their heads right inside. We have a hundred or so birds in the garden at any one time during the day - six or seven different species - and they all feed the same way: peck - check round for danger, peck - check round for danger... there's always the risk that they might get taken by a sparrow-hawk or a buzzard, it happens quite often.
@joansmor Our red squirrels - much smaller than the grey American tree rat ;-) - are very timid and very wild... I count myself fortunate on the rare occasions that I see one.
This is really great on black ...and wonderful this way also. So clear and such great detail. Fav for me Joan....(is it your birthday today? If so Happy Birthday!!!)
