What constitutes an abstract? by joansmor

What constitutes an abstract?

I am sure I don't know. This is my last silly attempt at BW Macro Abstract. Played with a filter, quodtone (still not sure I do it right) and curves.
Excellent texture from the stones and the curves of the stone add a lot of interest, keeps me looking! Very cool and well done!

@kt8ird It's birdseed. Thought team bird would recognize it. LOL

I Like this Joan! I think you took a very difficult challenge and aced it with a strong and intriguing image... don't forget to tag @zosimasy - although I guess I've now done it for you! A tip on using tone presets - especially tritones and quadtones - the toning needs to be the very last thing you do because any adjustments you make after toning will alter the tonal balance.

@vignouse Thanks I'll remember that. I can't believe you like this. I like my other post today better.

@joansmor No - this is the one - and it looks even better on black. There's some green bleedthrough from the adjusted quadtone, but it doesn't detract from the image.

@kt8ird Well, that's embarrassing! Our feeders have been empty for the last two weeks so no wonder! I have little rocks I've been wanting to do an abstract with so that was on my brain!

@kt8ird Don't put the rocks in the feeder!

@joansmor HAHAHA, I'll make sure I'm not too sleep deprived for that chore!

Very abstract, Joan! Leaves your mind wondering what it is but still lots to look at with the patterns and textures and few details. And like Richard says, looks great on black.

Nice abstract...thought these might be coffee beans as first...but some kind of seeds?

The answer is simple. We are in front of a beautiful example.

@kt8ird Don't feel bad Kate- I thought it was chocolate chips!

I think you've done a good job here Joan- it's definitely abstract as each one of us has not recognized the subject matter!

The beauty of abstract is that it can be anything really. Nice work here.

This is great!

I love the curves in this Joan
