WHat an unimaginative title. Think I am tired and can't be creative. This dam has appeared a few times in my project but more often in cold weather. My sister and I were down there Saturday where they have put in a nice walkway and a wrought iron fence for safety (and to frustrate photographers) But my lens fit though the bars and I got some good shots so prepare to get tired of the dam and the mills. I was shooting a lot of bracketed and of the two I have process with HDR this is the one I like the best. My sister says I seem to prefer darker pictures then her which is probably true. So I have not spent much time lightening this up. Actually more trying to cut down on over highlighting of the water. Interested in your opinion. We are planning to each do a memory book of the area and places we remember. Probably should have gotten rid of that satellite dish. Okay played a little with it in picmonkey. Not perfect but better. Tired and don't want to ruin everything.
Hahaha! When I first saw the title, I read it as "summer's dam hot" LOL! Great shot. I often take pictures of like this for my scrapbook for when we move, Sometimes they are of strange places, like the bakery where I got my son's birthday cake.
This is quite a scene. And love the double meaning in the title - fun. Not sure if this is a lighter version, but I think it looks good in terms of tone.
@taffy No not a lighter version but she did see the pre hdr processing but mid shot. But she says in general I lean toward the dark. I don't worry about it because ultimately I tend to like darker heck I keep my light of in my office when I can. Just window light.
Love how you captured the mills in the background it doesn't look anything like it did when I was growing up and the mills spewed out heir waste. Doesn't smell as bad either.
I'm glad you've revisited this spot Joan as it has a lot of potential. Your choice of PoV works well here but, sorry, I would have preferred a lighter touch with the processing and, yes, a tadge more on the exposure slider.
