@sketch2 Thank you a lot, my first photographic love has always been B&W. I must stop being so lazy and do more.
@stephanies Thanks a great deal, I originally shot this for a palladium print which meant that I had to really was paying attention to the shadows for detail.
@davejf I am very grateful for the fav. The old trees at Sunset Crater are a so full of texture and character.
@nanderson Thank you so very much for the fav. I loved the way that tree just was 'reaching out' I couldn't just walk on by.
@brett101 Thanks, texture and contrast are best in b&w. @megpicatilly Thanks, the old wood weathers very nicely in this environment- dry, very dry.
@shazzym You are so right about eerie, I love the Merlin look to this old tree.
@graemestevens Thank you, B&W really has more depth to it.

@lizhammond Thank you so much for the fav. Hadn't thought about IR version, will do when I get my bugs and issues worked through.

Wonderful image. I saw lots of these trees on the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania. They have an arthritic quality, twisted into knots.

@pickerandagrinner Very grateful for the fav, thank you. The inner 'bones' of trees are so fascinating.
