Cinder Hills Overlook in Infrared

Spent the day in Edit land. I experimented with Gimp, Scarab, Capture One Xpress for Sony to see what is best for Infrared post processing. Each has its own strength but I am still on the fence. I need to work with custom in camera white balance settings a great deal more so off to shoot or at least as soon as I can get out of my house after 34 inches of snow have fallen since Friday.

This is from the Sunset Crater National Monument north of Flagstaff. Cloudy day but with edits it seems brighter than it truly was. It is a pano done with Gimp,Photoshop, and Paint.net.
Great panorama!

Pink will soon become my favorite colour...

What a fascinating landscape. Those pink tones really make this pop -- almost more like a painting. I've heard Flagstaff as an area has amazing color and this seems like a great example of that.

@jerome You are so very kind, thank you. I have a long way to go.

@taffy It is, the IR helps in winter is really drab and gray. I was just happy that I am figuring out gimp.

@s4sayer Thank you so much, I was rather unsure if this would work.
@megpicatilly Thank you a great deal. The area is hilly and very close to the Navajo Nation's land.
@stephanies Thank you. I had the area to myself, nobody else wanted to brave the cold and snow. I'm glad there wasn't much wind.
@graemestevens Thank you kindly, the lack of other people really made it great. Such a curmudgeon I am becoming.

Look at that amazing scene! The contrast of the snow and brown trees looks really cool!
