Watson Lake by joysabin

Watson Lake

Drove south for meeting in Prescott Az.(the city name is pronounced Preskitt, I've never known why but when in Prescott do as the Preskittians do) This is Watson Lake, a man made lake just north of the city. I must and will go back, after all there are kayaks for rent and its just gorgeous.
Beautiful clarity

@jaybutterfield Thank you, I am so glad that I stopped on the way back. The storms did prevent me from staying too long.

@mbrutus Thank you so kindly for the fav. I have only begun to explore this area. I was amazed how gorgeous this is, doesn't look like it should be in the middle of Arizona.

@nickspicsnz Thank you so very much for the fav. The rocks and reflections are what I want to explore but maybe down at the water's level next time.

@evalieutionspics Thank you a great deal, the lake and area were very peaceful for a summer afternoon. The incoming thunder storms but have played a part in that. I drove through them on my way home.

Very dramatic. The sky and all the detail in the shot actually make me kind of nervous. To me it looks like a scene where 'something' is about to happen though I have no idea what.

@gardencat I wish I could have stayed for the storm to pass through, there was a covered picnic table area near but I'm not sure if it would be safe. I will have to investigate. Lightening is cool and dramatic from a distance.

This seems different to anything I've see before. I suspect it's the light, although 2.05pm seems a tadge early for blue hour. I'd have thought I'd stumbled on a film set! Excellent!

@s4sayer This is a 'regular' shot (not an IR image) that I processed with Nik in Photoshop but the light that the upcoming storm clouds gave was most unique. I was very glad that I stopped and paid the entrance fee-always a barrier for this cheap one. You are so very kind, thank you for the fav.

@stephanies Truly appreciative of the fav, thank you! This lake is a bit a drive for me (about 2hours) but I now know that I will make the effort again and again. I was amazed how cool it is.

@jo38 Thank you, the Nik collection in Photoshop helped but the lake and rocks are beyond amazing so I will go back. There is camping sites so plans will have to be made.

Wow that processing is very unique

@susale The light from the storm really made it happen. This did start out 'normal' but then got caught in Nik with photoshop.
