Seguaro bones
Back home from the warmer temps of the Phoenix area. On our first hike, I spotted the remnants of a seguaro. The softer exterior, its armor if you will, shields the inner wood which is a wonder unto itself.

The wood inside is prized by collectors for craving but protected.

These cacti are very long living and very resilient, often just continuing to grow in spite of damage.

I wish that they survived up here in Flagstaff but they need lower elevations.
