Riley and I went further along the trail today, past the boundary of the city park into McDonald Forest. This forest is owned by Oregon State University and is used by the Forest Sciences Department. My guess is that a thinning operation is going to start soon. There were several trees that had been tagged with varying colors of plastic tape.
