Dogwood Challenge asked us to "get down low; below 2 feet, and change your perspective. Look out or look up." Well the idea is great until one tries to get back up :):).
Chapel of the Holy Dove while sitting in the weeds and dust. One wonderful thing is that the field surrounding this chapel is already turning green and growing again after it was the 'victim' of a brush fire in April. Mother Nature seems to have forgiven us, once again.
Love this shot, and the back-story is hilarious. With my wonky undercarriage once I get down it's a major operation to get up again. I like the contrasting textures and tones in this shot, they're great.
@gardenfolk Thank you so much, getting up without anyone looking is what I prefer, it ain't pretty but it gets done. :):)
@joemuli Thank you a great deal. The little chapel is a gem.
@golftragic Thank you so kindly. Bending down takes practice at my age but I do try and like when I don't have any audience except the trees and birds who really don't say much.
@eudora Truly appreciative. I don't mind too much because as they say, either you go on or you don't. :):)
this IR treatment of the scene is awesome. I've been intentionally making myself get close down to the ground just so I can practice getting up... some delusion that I'll get better if I practice.
@ingajohansson Grateful for the fav. This is one of my favorite areas to get lost in with my camera.
@deborah63 Thank you, I really like the IR effect on trees.
@vignouse So kind of you. This little chapel, seats about 20-30 total and is basiclly just a travelers chapel but a gem none the less.
@jernst1779 Thank you so very much. I just don't bend like I used to but I still need to keep trying.
@octogenarian Thank you so kindly for the fav. The isolation of this little chapel lets me have it to myself often. People often miss it as they travel to the Grand Canyon and back. It is a small gem. The plunking my bum in the dirt is not my favorite thing but if I get down then I must get back up- it's not very graceful or pretty but it happens.
@francoise I agree that perspective changes and challenges are good for the soul but then there is always Excedrin.
@haskar I am so very thankful for the fav. The sitting down in the dirt was fun, sorta. It is a good thing that no one else was there to see me crawl back up. I just love this chapel.
@pistache Thank you so kindly. I think that I need to add a pillow and some Tylenol to my kit.:):)
@domenicododaro So very grateful for the fav. IR lets me explore things in a different way.
@blueberry1222 Thank you, this little chapel is a small wonder.
