Schrebergärten

I've been fascinated by these small gardens since I first saw them in 2008. There are more than a million of these rented spaces in Germany, often seen from train windows along railroad tracks. People grow flowers, vegetables, and keep them nearly manicured. This set of gardens has a wonderful beer garden where families can sit and eat while children have plenty of space to run around and play.
