So Many Options Without Going Outside by jyokota

So Many Options Without Going Outside

Stayed a second night with Taffy and Jim at their new place, and when 33 floors above the city, there are so many options for taking interesting photos like the Sears Tower without stepping out into the cold. It helps that there are interesting foreground things in the house, too.

Taffy's beautiful remix with a bokeh background: https://365project.org/taffy/365/2018-01-01
Very interesting foreground and interesting background too. What a great view.

I love the way this just glows. The view in the background is just a nice extra. The color in the foreground is what grabs my attention. Wonderful that you can get this without going outside. Stay warm.

Excellent shot. The sun shining through the money plant really makes the photo.

I love the contrast of nature and man made.

The gorgeous bright seed pods? leaves? seem to be trying to disguise or compensate for the grim man made background. Love it!

Nice light and composition.

We call this biennial plant honesty. The flat seed heads are very beautiful, flower arrangers love it. The light through the opaque discs is wonderful. Fave.

We call it honesty too. There's some in our garden but I've never seen it glow like this. This shot is fabulous, love the composition.

@dkbarnett @mcsiegle @lynnz @Weezilou @agedrunner @seattlite @777margo @lyndamcg @sarahlth @robz @joansmor @louisanoffke @merrelyn @henrir @shepherdmanswife - thank you for all your supportive comments, analytical thoughts, and favs for this photo! What a surprise -- I posted it 5 days late, buried under all my more recent photos and you all have kept this image trending anyway. I'm so lucky that @taffy has such a great view, and fine settings for me to appreciate. I had no idea what these leaves are called but @moonmtn Kahsia calls it a "money plant", @happypat Pat calls it "honesty" and @golftragic Marnie does, too. Money - honesty -- I guess those two concepts should go together! All I know is that in the early morning hours, that glow through those colors caught my eye. Had to stay an extra night to get the photograph. Thanks, @taffy !

@jyokota Thinking back some years ago I heard it called a 'dollar plant'.
January 9th, 2018
@golftragic -- dollar is still in the same theme of money and honesty, right?

@jyokota Yes, sure is.

Love, love, love this -- and am impressed you conceived this as I have -- in all these months -- never once noticed it. This morning I did, but it didn't look nearly as good as your image. Fav of course!
