Lessons from Jerome

Jerome described his process and I decided to try it out but using the trampled and broken flowers (I think it was the squirrel!) from the yard doesn't start out with the beautiful floral specimens he uses. But at least I found a use for my black velvet dress from a life I no longer live.
@Jerome I tried, but the squirrel had beaten these up so the top flower doesn't look nice at all.

I think you’ve done a great job and this looks lovely. Black velvet is just the trick for the background. Fav

Ooh black velvet. Just the words conjure up luxury, softness and beauty. Nice job. I love Jerome's work, it's always amazing.

Great that you tried the option with the black background! There are interesting ways to crop a picture here. Have fun trying it.

Love searching thrift stores for velvet dresses - they make the best backdrops. Cheeky squirrel....

This is beautiful Junko. It's really interesting too - it showed up so differently when the angle of the screen of the laptop was changed. With the screen angled backwards a little the background became seamless - no differentiation between horizontal and vertical. I'd never realized that the angle of the screen made such a difference. Cheers Rob

Oh wow, I rather like the less-than-perfect flowers. I have a faint memory bell ringing re the attraction of less than perfect subjects of art-work. Any suggestions gratefully received.

That is fabulous. Like Marnie -- I like the sense of reality from imperfect flowers.
