Oh how I wish I could tweak this shot....but I am sticking to the sooc rules! I also have taken the plunge and joined our local camera society. This was a quick grab at the bar next to the meeting room where the 'new members' night had just finished. There was actually someone with a similar camera to mine...so I won't feel as though I am in the minority. Most people I meet own Olympus or Cannon!
Good for you joining a camera club. Such an excellent way to meet other enthusiasts and share knowledge. They likely also organize photowalks which are always fun. Your experiments with recipes seems to be paying off, there is nice tonal depth and contrast in this shot.
I was a little worried when I joined my camera club. All I had at the time was a point and shoot! But it turned out to be an excellent idea and I even ended up being president for a while! This shot looks good sooc- has a documentary kind of feel to it.
