We have had rain on and off for most of the day. So the view from our front verandah, over the valley is quite grey tonight.
Today I am thankful for...
1. Strength and determination. The recent rains washed the top soil form our land and brought with it piles of debris. This meant that our 1/2 a kilometre driveway, which twists and turns all the way down had its side water ways extensively clogged up. It took three of us, all day to clean away most of the debris and the culverts that lay under the driveway that direct the water to the dams. It was a hard and dirty days work, but I am thankful that we found the strength and determination to do it.
2. The cup of tea I am drinking. It is warm and sweet (I don't usually have sugar in it). It is just what I need after a hard days work.
3. Teenagers. My youngest daughter has a sleepover tonight at her friends house. I am so happy that she has a great bunch of girls to have fun and share her teenage years with.
What an absolutely beautiful scene you have stretched out before you...a real blessing! And I'm glad you were able to complete that clean-up. I can only imagine how much hard work you did.
