Is her left eye ok?
February 11th, 2022
I hope it's a step in the right direction, but that people continue to make noise and advocate for the koalas until something really gets done.

Looks as if he is pondering the question. I sure hope so

@shutterbug49 yep she is squinting

What a nice seat it has. So many animals are in such low numbers.

It’s a start.
There was a quiz on the radio the other day, about collective nouns for various animals, including Koalas.
I knew the real answer but was screaming it’s a “ Cuddle “ at the radio.

I listened to the explanation of what the 'endangered' designation does, and doesn't, do to help protect Koalas and I'm left wondering what is being done with the land that used to be koala habitat ,and is now being taken over? Is it being used to harvest trees or to build houses or what?
February 12th, 2022
Oh gosh...it would be so good (but maybe naive) to think that the designation will keep them and their habitat safe.

Great shot and great video clip. Hopefully it's a good step and with pressure more steps will be made...
February 12th, 2022
Great shot. And great video. Hopefully it will aid in preservation of these guys.

@gardencat their original habit has been converted to farms and housing estates. sadly koala habitat is the favoured areas for humans to want to settle as it is prime land - so it's koalas out, people in
February 12th, 2022
@koalagardens So, as long as people are buying the houses etc. the development companies will build them. I wonder if a public campaign to discourage people from buying houses "built on the dead bodies of Koalas" would have any effect at all. It took a lot of years but PETA has certainly pretty much put a big dent in the market for fur clothing. Well, here in Canada at least.

@gardencat you are so completely spot on!
