This does not surprise me. I have a cousin who lives in Adelaide on the edge of the hills. There is a eucalyptus tree in his driveway that is home to a koala. I have visited several times and every time I look, no matter the time of day or night, that koala is asleep. He still manages to poop all over the driveway though..
