I did take quite a lot of photos of the wrens, sitting on my front verandah. This is the dominant male and his partner, but there were also 2 or 3 (hard to count when they move so fast and constantly!) younger males that look very much like the females. They usually live in social groups and call warnings of danger to each other as they are tiny and so vulnerable to all the predatory birds that live here.
Since I have planted a lot of native shrubs clumping all around the house, the population of the small wrens and finches has increased significantly as they can shelter as they forage.
