The Little River Trail out of Elkmont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was an easy 4.9 mile hike along a gravel road that used to be a railroad bed. The trail followed the river closely in most places and the sounds of cascading water was soothing. I spotted this yellow trillium off the side of the trail. It was opened up all the way like the white trillium I posted yesterday but it had been a very rainy day.
I'm back safely from my first solo camping trip. I had a great time and am already thinking about our next camping adventure to North Georgia slated for next week. Since my theme for this month is flowers I am looking forward to seeing the many native azaleas in North Georgia. Thanks so much for your comments on my May flowers... I'll try to get back to commenting for the next few days before my next camping adventure. Life is good!
